A funeral Mass will be said today at 10 a.m. in St. John the EvangelistChurch, Newton, for William J. Gearin, who died unexpectedly in his Watertown home on Friday. He was 52.
A resident of Watertown for the last 29 years, Mr. Gearin had worked for the Boston Edison Co. for 30 years, and at the time of his death worked for the Fossil Fuel Division at the company's Mystic station in Medford.
A native of Connecticut, he was graduated from Arlington High School and studied engineering in the Navy, where he served during the Korean conflict.
He leaves his wife, Virginia (Garafalo); a daughter, Cynthia Ann Gearin; two brothers, Edward of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lawrence Gearin of Newburyport.
Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
