WATERTOWN - Gertrude (Rayne) Nelligan, 90, a lifelong resident of Watertown, died Aug. 27 at her home. A 1928 graduate of Saint Patrick High School in Watertown, Mrs. Nelligan worked as a bookkeeper for Joyce Brothers in Boston after high school. Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years at the Hood Rubber/B. F. Goodrich Co. in Watertown. She later worked as a cafeteria worker for the Watertown Middle School. A lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church, she was active in school and parish activities. She was a former member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and of the arts and crafts committee for the parish bazaar. She leaves her daughters, Frances G. Nelligan of Watertown, Audrey P. MacDonald of Burlington, and Alice M. DuBois of Watertown; a son, Charles L. of Billerica; a brother, Robert L. Rayne of Waltham; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Francis B. Nelligan. A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday at St. Patrick's Church. Burial was in the family lot in the parish cemetery. Arrangements were made by the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home of Watertown.
